COLNAGO CAP ARREGHINI SUDTIROL

01-05-2010

The COLNAGO CAP ARREGHINI SUDTIROL team continues with its successes

The series of international competitive dates for the “Colnago CAP Arreghini Sudtirol” team continues. After scoring second place with Swiss Nathalie Schneitter and third place with the twenty-four year old Italian champion Eva Lechner at the “Racer Bikes Cup" event in Lugano, in Switzerland, the two champions won the first two places in the international women’s cross country race in Nalles (Bolzano), valid as third trial of the Italian International MTB series. Results obtained with great commitment and effort, since the Swiss champion Nathalie Schneitter was not in her best condition, as she was still suffering from a knee inflammation caused by a fall in the Swiss international race in Bucks.

Eva and Nathalie were stronger than ever in the last races, since they won 12th and 18th place in the first race of the Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup, which took place on 25 April on the fast Dalby Forest course in the county of North Yorkshire in Great Britain. The girls are now preparing to take part in the second race of the women’s Cross Country World Cup, scheduled to take place in Houffalize, in Belgium. The course of the Belgian competition is 5.161 km long and is particularly demanding. In fact, despite the highest hill being 380 metres, the climbs of the Belgian course are selective and are therefore perfectly suited to the technical characteristics of the athletes of the “Colnago CAP Arreghini Sudtirol” team. In that regard, the technical manager Edmund Telser said: “In Houffalize, I expect a brilliant performance from both our girls, and especially from Eva Lechner, who, as well as being in excellent physical condition, has the technical and athletic abilities to aim to be in the first ten, or better still, in the first five places”. The general results of the Mountain Bike Cross Country Team give good reason to be optimistic for 2010 though, since the COLNAGO ARREGHINI team is second in the standings.
