PITTURA IW 120
It is a white intumescent water-soluble paint studied and formulated for the protection of class 1 woodwork and their derivatives, that are placed on wall or laid edge on (stands, sets, etc.) implemented in interior environments and which do not have to withstand external mechanical stresses such as bumps, pedestrian traffic, scratches etc..
The cycle is suitable to be applied on wooden materials with the exception of:
- Wood veneered materials with sliced or peeled wood with adhesives based on thermoplastic resins;
-Assembled with a cellular or block board structure that includes air cavities or that is filled with heterogeneous materials as required by the UNI 9796/1990 regulation.
COLOURS
White.
USE
On woodwork and their derivatives, that are placed on wall or laid edge on (stands, sets, etc..), implemented in interior environments and which do not have to withstand external mechanical stresses such as bumps, pedestrian traffic, scratches etc.. The paint cannot be used for the treatment of veneered panels with thermoplastic adhesives, cellular structures, and honeycombed or cellular structures as required by the UNI 9796/1990 regulation.
Before proceeding with the application of the paint products, ensure that the wood is clean and free from grease or resin stains and that its humidity level is between 8 and 10%.
Do not apply when temperatures are inferior to +5°C, relative humidity is superior to 70% and when weather conditions are foggy and wet. The environment should also be well-ventilated, in order to facilitate water evaporation. If the product has been stored at low temperatures, allow it to reach a temperature of at least 15 °C before applying.
Complete drying takes place in 24 hours at temperatures of between 21 and 25°C and with relative humidity of 65%. Allow 18-24 hours to pass before applying a second coat. Remember that thicker layers of paint applied or different environmental conditions can cause a lengthening of the indicated drying times, as the evaporation of the water slows down.
Note: the data shown in the product data sheet refer to an application of 300 mm of wet paint, at a temperature of 23 °C and a R.H. of 65%. Different paint thicknesses and environmental conditions (temp. and R.H.) can change drying times.
TOOLS
Brush: it is advisable to proceed with “short brush strokes” to reduce the visibility of the brush marks.
Roller: use a short-hair roller.
Spray: airless without filters with 0.030-0.034 inch nozzles (0.76-0.86 mm), operating pressure 120-230 bar (12-23 MPa).
