Rethinking the Coast: the encounter between hinterland and sea in Montegridolfo
A new vision for Adriatic hospitality
Following its debut in Cortina, the second stage of Vette e Onde Experience, “Ripensare la Costa – L’abbraccio tra entroterra e mare”.( “Rethinking the Coast – The Embrace between Hinterland and Sea“), brought the evocative Castle of Montegridolfo to life, transforming it into an open laboratory of ideas for the future of Adriatic tourism.
Architects, entrepreneurs, hoteliers, and institutions engaged in dialogue around development models that enhance the connection between coastal and inland areas, opening new perspectives for territorial growth and investment.
The main sponsor of the initiative is CAP Arreghini, whose support helps drive innovation and frontier projects in the hospitality and real estate sectors, reinforcing its commitment to a culture of responsible and high-quality hospitality.
Montegridolfo: a symbol of responsible luxury
The Montegridolfo stage served as a true manifesto of responsible luxury, where the charm of historic villages merges with forward-thinking design.
The hinterland as a natural extension of the coast
Amato Arcuri, National Councilor of “I Borghi più belli d’Italia”, opened the discussion with a compelling view: integrating small towns into major development strategies is a matter of vision and value. Supporting this view were insights from Raffaella Peloso, Head of Valuation and Advisory Hotels Italy at CBRE, who illustrated the growing interest in value-add investments in regional destinations.
Among international perspectives, Michele Pasca di Magliano, Director at Zaha Hadid Architects, emphasized how architecture can transform even unconventional places into destinations of excellence.
The Ambassador: Monica Gasperini
Ambassador of this stage was Monica Gasperini, architect and designer with a passion for enhancing historical villages and developing high-end, widespread hospitality. Her design vision guided the discussion towards solutions that connect local identity with innovation.
Women in hospitality: stories of transformation
One of the event’s most significant moments was the panel “Women in Hospitality: Managing Change“, promoted by Marisa Corso and Chiara Caliceti of SEC & Partners, celebrating the women who are redefining the concept of hospitality.
Insights and visions
Annalisa Antinori and Annalisa Battistini, Co-Founders of Studio Numi, shared their tailored approach to spatial regeneration, where every detail becomes living material, every project a new story. Elisabetta Dotto opened the doors of her Ambra Cortina Luxury & Fashion Boutique Hotel, showing how a hotel can become a narrative experience where every corner tells its own tale.
Fashion and lifestyle entrepreneur Alberta Ferretti offered profound insights into the connection between hospitality and cultural restoration, citing the revitalization of Montegridolfo as a personal project of passion and vision. Erika Galbucci discussed her work at Villa Monty Banks, where luxury and authenticity blend in refined harmony.
Ambassador Arch. Monica Gasperini reaffirmed the role of widespread hospitality in preserving local identities, while Giulia Pazienza Gelmetti shared the magic of creating excellence in remote locations, such as her Sikelia Luxury Retreat in Pantelleria. Architect Ambra Piccin presented her vision of intimate, immersive spaces designed to evoke deep emotions and authentic connections.
The panel was moderated by Chiara Caliceti, Supervisor at SEC & Partners, and Desideria Cavina, who skillfully interwove the speakers’ voices into a rich, dynamic dialogue.
The Wunderkammer: the immersive heart of Vette e Onde Experience
As with every stage, Montegridolfo welcomed participants into the Wunderkammer, the immersive installation that embodies the spirit of the format.
Designed by the Committee of Ambassadors (Arch. Piccin, Arch. Gasperini, Arch. Masala, Arch. Forni) and narrated through a video story by Progetto Creativo, the Wunderkammer evolves at each stage to reflect the hosting territory.
CAP Arreghini once again provided the satin black finish covering the space, giving it a powerful and sophisticated scenic presence. This elegant and tactile surface reflects and absorbs light, enhancing every detail of the immersive experience.
Thanks to the quality and durability of CAP Arreghini solutions, the Wunderkammer will be reassembled and adapted at each of the four stages, always with the necessary maintenance to preserve its visual and sensory impact over time.
“The Wunderkammer is a living narrative device that transforms with the journey. It allows us to listen to places and tell their stories with a renewed sensibility,” says Marisa Corso, creator of the project and a key figure in the dialogue between architecture, hospitality, and real estate.
A room for well-being and slow tourism
In Montegridolfo, the experience was enriched by a dedicated wellness room; a space for personal care, regeneration, and rediscovery of time for oneself.
An oasis for guests inside the castle
This area, designed to support the philosophy of slow and sustainable tourism, offered guests moments of relaxation through herbal infusions, natural cosmetics, massages, and advanced skincare technologies, including innovative light therapy devices.
A true oasis for rediscovering personal balance, in line with a contemporary hospitality philosophy that places the individual at its core.
The founding committee
Vette e Onde Experience is brought to life through the joint effort of: Ambra Piccin, architect and designer specializing in immersive high-altitude atmospheres; Monica Gasperini, architect dedicated to enhancing historical villages; Sabrina Masala, architect focused on contemporary hospitality spaces; Andrea Forni, architect with a sensitivity for landscapes.
Once again, CAP Arreghini has supported the world of architecture and interior design, offering surface solutions and colours selected in collaboration with leading Italian and international architects.
